JD Sports buys back Go Outdoors

JD Sports has bought back Go Outdoors for £56.5m having only just appointed administrators. Manchester-based JD Sports said the coronavirus pandemic had brought into "sharper focus" the costs of the business, finding the chain is “no longer viable as previously structured”. The so-called pre-pack deal, which is expected to concentrate on renegotiating rent terms with landlords, comes just four years after JD Sports bought Go Outdoors for £100m and puts 2,400 jobs at risk.
